Features & Benefits

AquaBlok® is a composite-aggregate technology resembling small stones that consists of a dense aggregate core, clay or clay-sized materials, and polymers. AquaBlok’s line of low-permeability, thin capping solutions is ideal for sealing, containment and sediment remediation. When hydrated, AquaBlok particles expand and self-compact to create a low-permeability seal without mechanical compaction. The hydrated AquaBlok acts as an effective barrier for water and chemicals.

  • Bentonite clay is most commonly used as AquaBlok’s clay sealant component, however, other clay materials can be used depending on the project’s needs and whether it’s applied in a freshwater or saltwater environment.
  • Eliminates the need to drain a pond prior to installation or to apply in dry conditions, as the aggregate core gives AquaBlok the weight it needs to descend directly through water.
  • In addition to providing a lining solution, AquaBlok is also capable of facilitating wetland restoration by transferring plant seeds to a targeted area.
