Curry Supply has been a family owned business since 1932. Throughout the past eight decades and three generations of owners, the business has evolved into a multi-company operation.
The Ritchey family trucking roots can be traced back to the beginning. Hauling grain in the 1930’s thru 1960’s, transporting boiled linseed oil in the 1960’s thru 1980’s, cleaning storm drains for PennDot with a gas-powered vacuum pump and transporting used construction equipment from the 1970’s to 2000.
CS Trucking is located Roaring Spring, PA near the Curry Supply Headquarters. There are also satellite bases in Towanda, PA and Dover, OH. CS Trucking owns a modern fleet of more than 60 trucks that service USA and Canada. Customers demand drivers who can handle any challenges that come up in today’s fast paced, safety oriented delivery business. CS Trucking prides itself on a highly trained, safety-conscious team of truck drivers who not only deliver our customer’s products, but who also deliver superior service.
One of the first spin off companies of Curry Supply was Central Hydraulics. Curry Supply had a department that managed a large inventory of hydraulic hoses, belts, and other components to support in-house manufacturing and customer’s part needs. The Ritchey family saw a great opportunity to build a brand that not only supported their internal business but provided to an external market for these same components. Central Hydraulics was incorporated in 1995 and a repair shop started shortly after to repair hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, and valves.
In 2008, Central Hydraulics continued to grow and needed a larger facility so they moved to East Freedom, Pa. to expand their repair capacity and add a machine shop. In 2009, the company opened a new facility in Eighty Four, Pa. (20 miles south of Pittsburgh) to target Marcellus Shale fracking and drilling business.
In 2016, a 32,500 sq. ft. addition to the Central Hydraulics facility was complete that added additional machining and repair capacity. The East Freedom facility is currently 50,000 sq. ft. for manufacturing, distribution, and repair. Central Hydraulics works throughout the U.S. with OEM’s of all sizes within the oil and gas, rail, agriculture, construction, and aggregate industry.
In August of 2019 Central Hydraulics rebranded as Curry Fluid Power to better align with the Curry “Family of Brands” and help customers avoid confusion among companies that shared the same name.
Curry Supply has been supplying the railroad industry with service for more than 20 years. From starting out supplying hoses and fittings, to completing minor repair and then transitioning to in- house manufacturing, Curry Supply has evolved into a rail industry leader.
The unparalleled dedication of its employees prompted the incorporation of Curry Rail Services (CRS). CRS began full operation at its new location on August 4th, 2014. Located about 15 miles down the road from Curry Supply, the company remains in the heart of this community with roots dug deep into the railroad industry
Located in the renowned Sam Rea-Hollidaysburg Car Shop, CRS currently occupies 100,000 sq. ft. and has access of 35 miles of track storage and 2,000 car storage capacity.
Expanding the manufacturing operation into their new facility has provided CRS with more room to increase capacity and better serve target markets. With direct rail access, CRS has expanded into freight car repair and freight car manufacturing. Since 2014, new additions to the facility include two blast and paint lines and additional machinery to assist in manufacturing areas.
