Faircloth Skimmers

The Faircloth Skimmer® is a patented floating surface drain designed to dewater sediment basins by releasing the cleanest water from the surface. Unlike traditional bottom-drain outlets, it maintains a consistent flow rate and maximizes settling time, significantly improving water quality.

  • Floating Surface Drainage: The skimmer floats on the water surface, drawing off the cleanest water and reducing sediment discharge.
  • Adjustable Orifice Sizes: Available in eight sizes (1½″ to 8″), each with adjustable flow rates to match specific basin requirements.
  • Consistent Flow Rate: Gravity-driven operation ensures a uniform drain rate over several days, optimizing sediment settling.
  • Durable Construction: Built for rugged field conditions with PVC components and flexible hoses.
  • Ease of Installation: Simple setup with minimal tools; includes male threaded nipples or Sch 40 coupling connections.
  • DOT Approved: Recognized by multiple Departments of Transportation for use in regulated stormwater management.
  • Superior Sediment Control: Removes cleaner water from the surface, reducing turbidity and improving compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Improved Water Quality: Helps meet NPDES and other stormwater permit requirements by enhancing Total Suspended Solids (TSS) removal.
  • Operational Efficiency: Reduces the need for manual intervention and maintenance due to its passive, gravity-based design.
  • Scalable Solutions: Suitable for small to large basins, with drainage capacities ranging from 1,728 cu. ft/day (1½″ model) to over 97,000 cu. ft/day (8″ model).
