1 1/2″ Trap Rock is a crushed, angular stone made from dense, igneous rock, typically basalt or diabase. It is known for its dark gray to bluish color, high durability, and resistance to weathering and erosion. Because of its strength, it is commonly used in construction, drainage, and landscaping applications.

  • Because of its high strength and compacting ability, trap rock is an excellent choice for heavy-duty applications, providing both aesthetic appeal and functional durability in outdoor spaces.
  • It can be used to create contrasting accents in garden beds, stabilize slopes, or form a sturdy base for paved areas.

Applications

  • Erosion control – Stops soil from washing away. Retaining walls & water features – Strong and stable for landscaping. Decorative landscaping – Used in gardens and dry creek beds. Railroad tracks – Supports and drains well. Road bases & asphalt – Adds durability.
