Earth anchoring systems are critical structural components used to secure erosion control materials—such as turf reinforcement mats (TRMs), high-performance TRMs (HPTRMs), and geosynthetic facings—to the ground. These anchors enhance the stability of erosion control installations, especially in high-shear environments like steep slopes, levees, channels, and shorelines. These systems are especially valuable in areas where vegetation alone cannot provide sufficient resistance to erosion or where traditional hard armor is too invasive or costly. Anchors are often used in conjunction with geotextile bags, geogrids, or modular block walls as well.
