Rolled Erosion Control Products

Rolled Erosion Control Products (RECPs) are pre-manufactured mats or blankets designed to stabilize soil, reduce erosion, and support vegetation establishment on disturbed or vulnerable surfaces. These products come in two main categories: temporary erosion control blankets (ECBs) and permanent turf reinforcement mats (TRMs). Temporary ECBs—often made from straw, coconut, or wood fibers—are ideal for short-term applications where vegetation will eventually take over, while TRMs are built from synthetic or hybrid materials to provide long-term reinforcement in high-flow or steep-slope environments. These products are especially effective in areas where hydraulic forces exceed the limits of unreinforced vegetation, such as channels, slopes, and shorelines. RECPs not only reduce sediment runoff and maintenance costs but also enhance site aesthetics and ecological function when properly selected and installed.
