Responsibilities of the Position
- While carrying out daily responsibilities safety and compliance must be the priority. Takes personal responsibility for safety and champions company-wide safety goal of zero incidents.
- Gathers and analyzes market data to target opportunities for new business and develop prospecting strategies. Establishes personal contacts with potential accounts to understand their business and challenges. Continues to develop rapport to gain trust and business.
- Continuously communicates with customers to address questions, ensure performance expectations are met and cost and efficiency controls are in place. Understand customer's long-range plans and special projects to anticipate additional resource or technology needs.
- Ensures all company and customer safety protocols as well as regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
- Track and report market trends, competitor activity, business conditions and account status. Control expenses. Prepare budgets, quotes or contracts for management review.
- Sets performance expectations, provides guidance and coaching to direct reports, holds individuals accountable to reach agreed upon goals. Conducts regular performance reviews.
- Participates in quarterly CCT meetings with customers.
- Attends trade shows, industry conferences, and customer events.
- Collaborates with site managers, account managers, blasters and blast crews to ensure customer satisfaction while remaining conscious of safety and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of working experience on mine-site locations.
- Ability to assess information and consider possible solutions and impacts, making significant recommendations or decisions with confidence.
- Solid computer skills to proficiently use software programs and applications, create reports and presentations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to collaborate and convey messages, instructions, and decisions in an effective, professional manner.
- Strong personal and professional judgement. Act with integrity. Ability to work with minimal supervision, simultaneously oversee multiple projects in multiple locations while meeting deadlines agreed upon.
- Must have the flexibility to travel to customer job sites and work sporadic schedules to meet customer demands.
Work Environment
- This position works on mine-site locations year-round in all weather conditions. Frequent exposure to heavy equipment.
- Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, bend, twist, climb on rough terrain with uneven surfaces for long periods of time.
- Work involves a variety of manual tasks to complete blasting operations.
