The Safety and Environmental Intern will assist with departmental administration projects, including customer safety and SAFEWorks program administration. This role involves supporting compliance initiatives, maintaining safety records, and contributing to environmental health and safety (EH&S) improvement efforts. The intern will be based at the Broadview Heights location.

Responsibilities:

· Administer customer safety contractor requirements.

· Update records for the leading indicator safety program (SAFEWorks).

· Assist in the administration of driver safety records.

· Track and help design EH&S inspection tools.

· Review and update the SDS program as identified and needed.

· Complete special projects and tasks as assigned.

· Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

· Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in safety and environmental or another related field.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to multitask and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic environment.

· Strong communication skills required, both verbal and written.

· Proficiency in Microsoft applications and internet navigation.

Physical Requirements:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
