As the CEO of Hale Holdings, John Hale is responsible for leading the Hale Family of Companies toward a prosperous future. He oversees the high-level operations of the multi-specialty company and provides expert guidance to the senior leadership team. His father Ralph was his mentor, teaching him the business at a very young age, with a focus on building relationships and prioritizing the customer.

John earned a degree in Business Finance from the University of Iowa in 1972 and joined his father at Quick Supply Co., which had only a few employees at the time. He was a salesman and chief blaster in those early days and hustled to keep up with the demands of a growing company, knowing that he’d one day become CEO. In 1979, John made his first big investment in the company and purchased property in Mason City, Iowa to expand services within that region.

John is active in the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association and the Iowa Limestone Association, as well as multiple state associations across the country. He is proud to carry on the legacy of his father and enjoys seeing the next generation of the Hale family joining the ranks.

Mike Hale is the President of Hale Holdings. He began his career in the warehouse at Quick Supply Co., working each summer throughout high school and college. After graduating from the University of Iowa, he assumed a full time position in the explosives division as he began learning what it takes to work in the field, doing shots and blasts. His hard work quickly led to a position in sales where he gained valuable experience in management, including how to run the business.

Mike served as Vice President for nearly 15 years. Under the leadership of his father, John Hale, he began casting his own vision for the future of the company and today strives to build a workplace that stands out from the rest, while taking care of the employees who he considers to be more like family.

As President, Mike takes pride in building more than just a strategic business plan; he desires to build upon the family legacy that began generations ago, by cultivating a talented and dedicated workforce who will continue to keep customers at the forefront of all company initiatives.

Mike is actively involved in multiple aggregate and construction associations around the country, including the International Erosion Control Association and the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association.

Frank Camodeca is the Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer for the Explosives Services Division. He’s responsible for long-term strategic initiatives, with an emphasis on safety and operational leadership. He began his career at Quick Supply Co. in 2019 as the General Manager of Illinois. He was promoted to VP of the Central Division and stepped into his current role soon after, to further foster strategic growth. With 30 years in the industry, Frank is passionate about client satisfaction and finds fulfillment at Quick Supply Co., where the team is empowered to focus on the customer and provide solutions that ensure the best possible outcome.

Frank has a bachelor's degree from The Citadel, and an MBA from Capella University. He’s also actively involved in the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association and the International Society of Explosives Engineers.

As Vice President of the Midwest Division for Explosives Services, Chuck Holmes finds enjoyment working with the Hale family and fellow Quick Supply Co. employees to deliver exceptional services to customers. Beginning as a blaster and driver, Chuck is now a well respected leader of the team, with more than four decades of experience as a Site Manager, General Manager of Blasting Services, and now VP of the Midwest Division. In his role, he’s focused on developing a culture of safety while maintaining profitability through long-term business strategies.

He’s involved in many industry organizations including the International Society of Explosives Engineers, the Iowa Limestone Producers Association, and the Michigan Aggregate Association.

Joe Jankowski is the Vice President of the Central Division. With a focus on commercial growth initiatives, he’s responsible for developing new business opportunities, developing innovative customer solutions, and managing high-performing operations, sales, and technical teams. He works closely with the other senior leadership to create strategic plans, improve operational efficiency, and expand the company’s market presence within the Central Division.

Joe is grateful to be a part of a company where both personal and team growth are consistently prioritized. He’s currently active in several state and national associations such as NSSGA Young Leaders, Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers, Indiana Mineral Aggregate Association, Ohio Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Association.

Rex “Scooter” Guill is the Vice President of the Southeast Division for Explosives Services. With more than 40 years of expertise in explosives and business development, Scooter leads the Southeast Division with initiatives that focus on long-term growth. He enjoys the personable atmosphere at Quick Supply Co. and the freedom to lead his team in strategies that benefit the company’s bottom line.

Julian Smith is the Vice President of Business Development for the Explosives Division. He seeks to build and expand customer relationships and develop new markets. He also has a specialty role in the construction of new explosive sites. With 36 years of experience in the industry, Julian appreciates the autonomy he’s given to make decisions and further grow business opportunities.

Julian is actively involved in the Kentucky Crushed Stone Association, the Kentucky Association of Highway Contractors, the Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association, the Tennessee Road Builders Association, the South Carolina Aggregate Association, and the Georgia Aggregate Association. He has a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing from Murray State University.

As the Vice President of Sales for the Southeast Division for Explosives Services, Mike Harms leads a team of sales representatives focused on business objectives that yield strong relationships with key clients. He appreciates the flexibility to be nimble to meet customer needs and the family atmosphere that’s unique to Quick Supply Co.

Mike holds a variety of positions in state associations such as the International Society of Explosives Engineers, the VTCA-Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance, the North Carolina Aggregates Association, the South Carolina Aggregates Association, and the Georgia Construction Aggregates Association. He’s a graduate of the University of Louisville.

A veteran of the explosives industry, E.J. Burke III was inducted into the Pit & Quarry Hall of Fame in 2021 and now serves as the General Manager of National Accounts for Explosives Services. He draws on nearly six decades of expertise to develop strategic initiatives and foster strong relationships with high-value customers. E.J appreciates the commitment, expertise and professionalism among colleagues at Quick Supply Co.

E.J. has a degree from the University of South Carolina.

As the Director of Technical Operations, Jeff Fowler is responsible for technology management, implementation, and training initiatives, with a focus on identifying and implementing key technologies to position Quick Supply Co. competitively in the marketplace. He’s also focused on safety and efficiency in drilling and blasting operations, while also facilitating successful partnerships with customers.

Jeff is a Civil Engineering Technologist with 30 years of experience in the field, and a member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers.

As the Director of Safety & Compliance, Dan Wicka oversees initiatives that ensure the safety of all employees. He’s also responsible for ensuring the company meets all federal, state, and local regulations to operate within their given regions. Dan has 24 years of experience in safety and 12 years in mining. He’s a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals and has an associate degree in Occupational Safety and Health.

Don Thieman is a member of the leadership team, currently serving as Senior Vice President, Strategic Advisor. He began as a Technical Sales Representative in 2001, was promoted to Sales Manager, and later promoted to Vice President of Sales & Operations for the entire Environmental Materials business group. In April of 2025, Don decided to move into the strategic advisor position. His new responsibilities include a special project on operational excellence, marketing support on the website upgrade, and managerial mentoring - all focusing on the customer experience.

Don is a past board member of the International Erosion Control association (IECA), a past president of the Great Rivers Chapter of IECA, and current volunteer floor manager for the IECA Annual Conference. Don has a bachelors degree in Marketing and his MBA with emphasis in Organizational Behavior.

As Vice President of Sales, Guy Litteken inspires his team of sales professionals to grow in profitability and excellence, using his 34 years of industry experience. He started with ASP as an Inside Sales Representative, working his way up from this position, and now serves as a mentor and coach, sharing his expertise with our team.

Guy has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

As Vice President of Operations, Lee Seaman is focused on process improvement, strategic planning, and inventory management to ensure operational efficiency across all construction materials locations. Additionally, he oversees fleet and equipment management, as well as safety protocols.

With nearly 30 years of experience at the company, Lee deeply values the family-oriented culture. Over the years, he worked in the Bridge and Architectural Divisions and previously served as General Manager for all the Bowman locations before taking on his current role as Vice President of Operations.

Lee is an active member of the Association of General Contractors and the International Erosion Control Association. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and General Business from Santa Clara University.

As Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Andy Reynolds oversees a wide range of activities to ensure Hale Holdings remains profitable through sustainable financial and employment practices. This includes oversight of treasury, financial accounting, financial reporting and analysis, procurement, IT, and HR.

Andy has a Master of Accounting degree from University of Iowa and has been with Hale Holdings for ten years. He enjoys the nimbleness Hale Holdings offers, affording the company a unique ability to meet and exceed both customer and employee needs.

As Director of IT & Project Management, Cassie O’Brien oversees the overall IT strategy while leading cross-functional teams on major initiatives that drive efficiency, innovation and growth. She has a passion for solving problems and is particularly motivated by making a real impact, through collaboration, structure, and improved process.

Prior to joining Hale Holdings, she held leadership roles across the commodity trading, landscaping, and homebuilding industries—spearheading large-scale digital transformation efforts, including initiatives at global firms.

Cassie holds a Series 3 license in commodity trading and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt. She earned her degree in Accounting from Drake University.

Hannah Foster is the Director of Financial Reporting for Hale Holdings. With a focus on efficiency, Hannah is responsible for month-end reporting and explosives pricing. She enjoys the challenge and flexibility her job offers, and loves working alongside likeminded coworkers. Hannah has a masters degree in Accountancy from The University of Iowa and previously worked as a CPA in public accounting.

Joe Cate served as an external CPA prior to coming on board at Hale Holdings. He’s since held roles such as Accountant and Expense Controller; now he is the Director of Financial Accounting, where he oversees all financial accounting functions from Accounts Receivables/Payables to Invoicing. He enjoys the unique challenges and problem solving opportunities that come along with our company’s rapid growth.

Joe has a BBA in Accounting and Masters of Accountancy from the University of Iowa.

Lenny Novak is the Director of Procurement for Hale Holdings. He’s responsible for purchasing, importing, and private label management, as well as inventory and fleet management. Additionally, he oversees the explosives supply strategy, capital asset planning, the truck build shop, and freight logistics. Most of all, Lenny enjoys the team environment, dynamic growth and the rapid, customer focused decision making across the Hale Holdings family of companies.

Lenny offers a wealth of knowledge and cross functional experience from his 25 years in the industry. He’s held a variety or purchasing and sourcing roles at a national and international level. His background also includes finance and accounting, plant construction and operations, supply chain management, customer service and multi-modal bulk distribution.

Outside of the workplace he has filled notable positions formerly such as Zoning and Planning Commissioner for Shelby County, AL and Director for Institute of Supply Management, Maryland Chapter. Lenny is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and holds a BS in General Engineering. He also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Alabama.

Linda Menendez is the Director of Human Resources. She works alongside employees and managers to develop innovative solutions. Her focus is to ensure that all human resource initiatives translate to actionable plans that drive continued growth and success of the Hale Holdings family of companies.

She appreciates the genuine and authentic connections between coworkers and is proud of the tremendous work being done across the country. Linda has 35 years of industry experience and holds a bachelors degree in Business Administration from Notre Dame College of Ohio.
